In 2017 and 2018, SPS IPC Drives, the leading Show in electrical automation technology will be taking place after Thanksgiving. “This is the first time in recent years that SPS IPC Drives and Thanksgiving will not be coinciding. We hope and expect that those interested across America will use this opportunity to visit the event. It is the perfect platform to meet providers of electric automation technology from all around the globe and find out further information on cutting-edge technologies,” explains Sylke Schulz-Metzner, Vice President SPS IPC Drives at Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH.

Bigger than ever before
SPS IPC Drives is expanding its Show offering this year by opening a new hall. For the first time, trade visitors can explore the latest products and solutions from the field of electric automation in a total of 16 halls. 1,700 exhibitors from start-ups to global players will be in Nuremberg on 28 - 30 November 2017 to cover all aspects of industrial automation – from simple sensors to intelligent digital solutions. With the exhibits and studies on Industry 4.0 and digital transformation expected to once again be among the most popular highlights for this year's attendees, Industry 4.0 will also be definitive topic of focus at SPS IPC Drives 2017.

Focus on digitalization
Now that the age of digital transformation has arrived, IT and automation industries are growing more intertwined than ever. In addition to the various products and example applications that will be on display, SPS IPC Drives will reflect this trend in topic-specific showcases and presentations in a series of different forums.

In the automation industry, more and more attention is being paid to digital transformation. As a result, the organizers behind SPS IPC Drives have decided to reconfigure the topics covered in the Show's halls. Starting this year, Hall 6 will be entirely dedicated to Software and IT in manufacturing.

Why a dedicated booth at SPS IPC Drives is definitely worthwhile is explained by Oliver Niedung, IoT Sales Specialist at Microsoft Deutschland:

“SPS IPC Drives has become considerably more attractive for us. Last time we got in contact with the right decision-makers in the automation industry at partner booths. However, it is also in the nature of digital transformation that every automation specialist and every manufacturer has a considerable need for software, cloud services, and ever more frequently, for mixed reality and artificial intelligence. The discussions and needs have reached a level of quality and quantity that makes a booth for 2017 a logical consequence – Cortana would certainly have advised us to do this.”

For the very first time this year, visitors will be able to take Guided Tours on IT-Security in automation, Smart production, and Smart connectivity

Attendees will also be able to obtain extensive insights into specific topics and ask providers for advice on their particular requirements at a series of shared booth areas and forums:

  • “Automation meets IT”, Hall 6
  • “MES Goes Automation”, Hall 6
  • “AMA Center for Sensors and Measurement”, Hall 4A
  • “VDMA Machine Vision”, Hall 3A
  • “wireless in automation”, Hall 10.0
  • ZVEI forum, Hall 3A
  • VDMA forum, Hall 3
  • “Automation meets IT” forum, Hall 6
  • Exhibition forum, Hall 10.1
